WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Client Testimonials

TW

Tan Wei Liang

Petaling Jaya, Selangor — June 2025

My mother passed unexpectedly last year and none of us had any idea where to begin with the estate. Rajan walked us through every step — calmly and without making us feel rushed or foolish for not knowing things. The probate took about five months, which was quicker than we expected. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

NR

Nora Rashid

Kuala Lumpur — May 2025

I came to Menara Adil to update an old will that no longer reflected my wishes. The process was straightforward and the session felt relaxed — I didn't feel pressured to make any particular decision. The solicitor explained the effect of each clause clearly and the document was ready for signing within a week. Very professionally handled.

Krishnamoorthy Chellappan

Klang, Selangor — June 2025

There was a disagreement between my siblings over my late father's property. We came to Menara Adil after trying to resolve things ourselves for months without success. They managed to broker a settlement through mediation without the matter going to court. It wasn't without difficulty — these situations never are — but the outcome was fair and preserved the family relationship, which mattered most to us.

Lim May Fong

Ampang, Kuala Lumpur — May 2025

After dealing with another firm that was slow to respond and unclear about what was happening, I switched to Menara Adil for the remainder of my late husband's estate administration. The difference in communication was immediately apparent. I always knew what stage the matter was at and what would happen next. I only wish I had come here first.

RA

Rosnah Abdullah

Shah Alam, Selangor — June 2025

I came to do basic estate planning — just wanted a will in order and an understanding of how my assets would be handled. The consultation was helpful and not at all intimidating. I also appreciated that the solicitor was patient with my questions, even the obvious ones. Fees were exactly as quoted. No surprises.

YC

Yeoh Chee Keong

Puchong, Selangor — April 2025

The letters of administration process was more involved than I expected — there were some complications with one of my late mother's accounts. The team kept me informed throughout and explained what each complication meant in plain terms. The final distribution was completed around the six-month mark. Solid, dependable work.

CASE STUDIES

How We Assisted Families in Practice

These summaries are based on typical matters we handle; details have been generalised to protect client privacy.

CASE STUDY · ESTATE ADMINISTRATION

The Challenge

A family in Kuala Lumpur needed to administer the estate of an elderly parent who had passed without a will. The estate included property, bank accounts, and shares across three institutions. The family had no previous experience with the legal process and was uncertain where to begin.

Our Approach

We applied for letters of administration, handled all court filings, and coordinated directly with the three financial institutions and the land registry. The family received a clear document checklist upfront and progress updates at each milestone without needing to follow up.

The Outcome

Letters of administration were granted by the KL High Court within the expected timeframe. All assets were realised and distributed to the beneficiaries within seven months of initial instructions. The family later returned to have wills prepared for themselves.

"We didn't know what we were supposed to do after our father passed. Menara Adil explained it step by step and took care of everything."

CASE STUDY · INHERITANCE DISPUTE

The Challenge

Two adult children disputed the validity of their late parent's will, which had been amended shortly before the parent's death. One sibling believed the amendment did not reflect the parent's genuine wishes; the other maintained the will was valid. Proceedings were at risk of becoming acrimonious.

Our Approach

We assessed the legal strength of each position and recommended mediation as a first step. Working with both parties through a structured mediation process over three sessions, we helped the siblings reach an agreed distribution that was recorded in a binding settlement.

The Outcome

The matter was resolved without court proceedings. Both parties signed a settlement agreement within four months of the initial consultation. The siblings were on speaking terms at the close of the matter — an outcome that a court hearing might have put at risk.

"I was worried this would end up in court and damage my relationship with my sibling permanently. The mediation approach worked and we both walked away feeling the outcome was fair."

CASE STUDY · ESTATE PLANNING

The Challenge

A client in their late fifties had accumulated property, savings, and business interests across several entities. They had no existing will and had not discussed their wishes with family. They were also uncertain how to treat one beneficiary differently from others in a way that was fair but clearly documented.

Our Approach

We conducted two planning sessions — the first to understand the full picture, the second to finalise decisions. We drafted a will that clearly reflected the client's intentions and included a memorandum of wishes to explain the reasoning behind specific allocations, reducing the likelihood of future disputes.

The Outcome

A properly witnessed will and a supporting memorandum of wishes were completed within three weeks. The client described the process as clarifying and reported feeling considerably more settled having had the conversation. They have since referred two family members to the firm.

"I had been putting this off for years because I thought it would be complicated and unpleasant. It was neither. I only regret not doing it sooner."
